Canadian Council on Social Development (2008 - Present)

The Community Social Data Strategy (CSDS) is a national consortium of local data user networks. This includes 16 consortia representing over 50 Canadian municipalities. The CSDS provides an opportunity for municipalities and community-based organizations to access social data from Statistics Canada and other sources at a much reduced cost. Our role is that of the lead organization for the Sault Ste. Marie region consortium. Tasks involved in leading this initiative include the creation of training documents, training sessions, data organization, providing ongoing user support, giving input into the CSDS website as well as representing the community in conversations with other communities and the Canadian Council on Social Development (CCSD).
