Northern Information Technology and Geomatics Cooperative Project (NITGC) 2003-2005

This one million dollar year long project involved the design and implementation of a GIS data warehouse and ASP GIS interface for the communities of Chapleau, White River, Dubreiville, Hornepayne and Michipicoten. A consortium of local Geographic Information System (GIS) companies from across the Algoma District came together to win the contract.  The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre provided their expertise through Municipal GIS.

Components of the project included: user workshops, data source determination, data modeling, data capture, architecture design and implementation, interface development, metadata capture, user training and process documentation.
The Sault Ste. Marie GIS data models for Water, Wastewater and Transportation were customized to meet the specific needs of all five communities.
